Great people

Last Spring I came to Tuskegee with the intention of establishing a Bed and Breakfast facility near the center of town in a building just up the street from a school. The owner was out of state and is married to a realty agent. The house was severely damaged and I was told it would be fixed in six months at which time I was to make the purchase. I was also attempting to purchase a foreclosure in the same area but was too late with my bid. I shared my confidential business intentions with this agent, as well. He was a close friend for over 30 years to one of your community's leaders. The Bed and Breakfast was the housing aspect of my primary business: IN DEFENSE: AN AMERICAN LEGACY-THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIENCE. I met with a few Realty companies and several prominent members of the Tuskegee community.I shared my entire program with them and confided in them as to the set-up of my business. We had met on several occasions in your local McDonalds. I returned to Georgia to pack to relocate to Tuskegee. -On May 23rd of 2015 I experienced a severe stroke----on the day I was relocating to Tuskegee. Needless to say I am now recovering. When I received notice of your establishment just yesterday I was astonished! It is almost identical to the program I shared with the community leadership; (names with-held at this time); although similar- it is a fraction of the massive work I created as my doctoral dissertation. I was bringing the business to Tuskegee to follow in the footsteps of my family's legacy of contributing to the greatness of Tuskegee University: the party being Mr. Edward Lewis of Essence Magazine. I shared this knowledge with community leadership; as several University trustees knew Mr. Lewis personally. This project, however, was my own creation ---using my own retirement funds; as I am not a woman of any form of wealth--nor prestige. Now-----should it be an extreme co-incidence of time-place and content that your establishment evolved when and as it has------then to God be the Glory! But-if this is the result of a coalition of native Tuskegee-ians not meaning to give credit where credit is RIGHTFULLY DUE to an "outsider" - this notice has no ground upon which to stand to prove my creation and introduction of this bed and breakfast concept to Tuskegee. I expect nothing---as this is indeed a fluke of the politics of deception and opportunistic characters that plaque all communities----Black and white, and the misfortune of my untimely stroke. Yet---even that rests in The Creator's Hands. "What God has for me---it is for me". It will indeed manifest at another time and place-----to the magnitude it was given to me to be. Competition is the American way-------even in a tightly knit town. Respectfully submitted: Ms. Glenna E. Calvin of IN DEFENSE; AN AMERICAN LEGACY- THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIENCE website.

Hermoso lugar y muy acogedor

I respond to this notice with mixed emotions: Let me explain why;

This review is long overdue and I did mean to review on airbnb,as I booked a room through them, but they only give you a little bit of days to do so and I was not aware. Anyway, this past Fall I stayed at Rayborn Manor Bed and Breakfast and had the best experience. The definition of Southern hospitality. I was lost on my way there and the owners were kind enough to meet me at the gas station down the street so that they can guide me to the bed and breakfast. The place is very clean and you definitely feel at home. The female owner made an amazing breakfast and she is so sweet. She is bilingual like me and I got to practice my Spanish, as being away from my parents I was not able to practice it as much. They truly made my stay in Alabama very memorable and if I am ever in the area, I will stay here again. Highly recommend!!
